Experience
Accomplishing these tasks is a challenging yet rewarding journey. In Task 1, the exploration of typographic systems allowed me to experiment with various layouts and styles, enhancing my understanding of typeface composition. Task 2 involved creating key artwork and promotional materials, which tested my skills in branding and design consistency. Finally, Task 3 focus on type exploration and application led me to improve my technical skills in type creation and digital design.
Observation
During these tasks, I noticed the importance of careful planning and attention to detail. In Task 1, a structured approach to typographic systems reveals how different alignments and grid structures affect readability and aesthetic appeal. Task 2 highlights the need for a cohesive design language across various collateral materials. Task 3 shows that even small adjustments to letterforms can significantly affect the overall look and feel of a font.
Findings
I find that successful design is a combination of creativity and technical precision. As such, Task 2 taught me that consistency in design elements is critical to a strong brand. Additionally in Task 3, the iterative process of improving the font based on feedback was crucial to achieving a final outcome. Together, these projects highlight the value of continuous learning and adaptation in the design process.
